Counselling and Supervision in Manchester
Julia Reissmann

My qualifications include a Masters in integrative counselling from Manchester University, a certificate in group analysis, foundation course in hypnotherapy and certified complex trauma training. I am also a qualified supervisor. I describe myself as a relational therapist and work with attachment and co-transference together with influences from mindful awareness, hypnotherapy and a trauma-informed understanding of bodily responses to distress.
I am an accredited member of the BACP (MBACP accred) and work within its ethical framework and this includes my own regular supervision, therapy and continuous professional development. As well as working privately, I also work within the NHS as a counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor.
I have over 30 years experience of working with people in the public and voluntary sectors. I have worked with vulnerable people, in areas such as homelessness, substance misuse and mental health. I was a midwife for 18 years, mostly in a community setting including as a specialist in mental health and drug/alcohol use, and working within the Sure Start program. I have experience in working with women and men around perinatal issues including birth trauma. I am a certified clinical complex trauma professional.
I welcome difference in background and culture. LGBTQI+ friendly.
